The FEI applauds the steps taken by Horse Sport Ireland in furthering the debate on medication control and anti-doping following the launch of the Holmes report at a press conference today in Dublin. The Holmes report compiles the conclusions and recommendations of an expert group chaired by Dr Gordon Holmes set up to look at measures to eradicate prohibited substances and practices from the Irish equestrian sector.
The fight for clean sport is a global one and is a priority for the FEI. Today in Lausanne, the FEI Anti-Doping and Medication Commission chaired by IOC Medical Commission Chairman and WADA Vice President Arne Ljungqvist met to collate the recommendations from the key working groups in order to shape and drive the FEI’s campaign that will address the issues over the coming months.
These initial recommendations will be presented to the FEI Bureau at the end of this month and a report on the findings will be made public.
