Ottawa, ON — The 2008 Dressage Canada Board Election is now underway, with the call for nominations having started on August 3 and continuing until September 7, 2007.
The Dressage Canada Board develops and manages its programs through a number of technical committees. The objectives of Dressage Canada are to foster the growth of Dressage and the pursuit of excellence in the sport at the local, national and international levels. The Dressage Canada Board consists of seven elected members, six Directors-at-Large elected from the Senior membership of Dressage Canada and one Athlete Representative elected by their peers from the current list of short and long listed athletes prepared each year. A minimum of two Director-at-Large positions are opened each year.

The 2008 Board takes office January 1, 2008. All Board members must be current members in good standing with both Dressage Canada and Equine Canada.
DC members are encouraged to play an active role in deciding the individuals that will shape the future of Dressage in Canada by voting. Nominee biographies and ballot packages will be mailed to all current senior DC members in good standing as of August 3. Ballots must be returned to Christine Peters Manager Dressage by the deadline of October 26. The results of the election will be announced during the Dressage Canada Reception at the 2007 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Additional information on the Reception can be found on the Dressage Canada website as it becomes available. The Royal Winter Fair takes place November 2-11, 2007 in Toronto, ON.
