FEI Rankings Monthly Update For June

The FEI oversees around 70 rankings and standings across all the disciplines, from World Rankings calculated on a monthly basis for athletes, horses and/or combinations, to league, team and regional based standings for series such as the FEI World Cup™ and FEI Nations Cup™, as well as a variety of youth categories, among others. Below are the leaders for the month of June 2024 in the senior World Rankings.

Jumping: Henrik von Eckermann dominance continues

There are few changes in the new Longines Rankings for the month of June, with nine athletes remaining in the top 10. Henrik von Eckermann’s (SWE) leads the pack with 3558 points, followed by Britain’s Ben Maher (3445 points) who remains second. Steve Guerdat (SUI) closes out the top 3, maintaining his position from the previous month with 3315 points.

Canadian jumpers are holding fairly firm in their positions, with Tiffany Foster still 22nd (and still the top female overall); Erynn Ballard moving up a few to 31st; Amy Millar dropping to 55th; and Mario Deslauriers remaining 68th.

Dressage: Isabel Werth narrows the gap with von Bredow-Werndl

There are no changes at the top of the Dressage World Ranking for athletes. Jessica Von Bredow-Werndl (GER) remains No.1 with 2078 points, while Isabell Werth (2044 points) is now closer than ever to her fellow countrywoman, just 34 points behind. Charlotte Fry (GBR) maintains her third position with 1929 points.

TSF Dalera BB (2078 points) is the undisputed leader in the FEI Dressage World Ranking – Horses for yet another month. Emilio 107 is now second, climbing three positions, with 1943 points and ahead of Everdale, who is now third on 1902 points.

There are currently no Canadian dressage riders in the top 100, but it is interesting to note that Ariana Chia is now our leader, jumping from 145th to 121st. Ryan Torkkeli has regained his footing somewhat and moved up from 128th to 122nd, and Naima Moreira Laliberte has vaulted from 164th to 128th.

Also notable are the CDI2* rankings, where five Canadians occupy spots in the top 100 thanks to up-and-coming horses: Lori Bell (10), Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu (12), Simone Williams (36), Erin Silo (51) and Ryan Torkkeli. In the heavily-populated CDI1* rankings, Brooke Mancusi leads the Canuck charge in 44th place, followed by James Irwin (72), Hannah Beaulieu (74) and Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu (84). And in the U25 list, two Canadians make the top 100: Claire Robinson and Glamour Boy (24) and Brooke Mancusi with Arthur (Jill Irving’s former ride, 86).

Eventing: Oliver Townend & Great Britain’s dominance continues

Great Britain’s Oliver Townend maintains his hegemony atop the FEI Eventing World Athlete Ranking for the ninth consecutive month, holding steady with 574 points. USA’s Boyd Martin has climbed to second place on 471 points, surpassing Britain’s Rosalind Canter (447 points).

Canadian eventers occupy three spots on the top 100: Colleen Loach, who jumped from 81st to 49th; Jessica Phoenix, moving from 94th to 83rd; and Waylon Roberts, advancing into 95th spot from 109th.

Driving: Exell and Bruder remain at the top while Hölle reclaims number 1

Only one month after dropping to the second place, Martin Hölle (HUN) has reclaimed the top position of the Singles category, with 70 points, while former leader Dennis Schneiders (GER) is now second with 65 points. The other two Driving Rankings have the same leaders as last month: Kelly Bruder (CAN) remains at the top of the Singles discipline on 106 points, almost double that of Anne Unzeitig (GER). Meanwhile, Boyd Exell (AUS) continues to maintain his strong leadership of the Four-in-Hand with 294 points.

Endurance: France leads the way

France dominates both rankings; on one hand, Melody Theolissat remains number one among the athletes with 1131 points, followed by two compatriots: Julia Montagne, who rises two positions, and Virginie Atger, who drops to third place. The top Canadian continues to be Shannon Thorndyke, now in 200th spot.

Para-Dressage: Mari Durward-Akhurst and the USA are the new World #1s

Britain’s Mari Durward–Akhurst is the new leader of the FEI Para Dressage World Individual Ranking. Thanks to her stunning performance at Hickstead (GBR), where she topped all three competitions as well as the Team classification, Durward–Akhurst has climbed from the 13th place to the top of the ranking, followed by Laurentia Tan (SGP) and Kate Shoemaker (USA).

Canada continues to have three athletes in the top 100: Roberta Sheffield, 44th; Austen Burns, 56th; and Jody Schloss, 71st.

In the Team Ranking, USA (1340 points) is now leading the ranks, after surpassing The Netherlands (1339 points) by just one point. Canada is 19th in the team standings with 1199 points.
