Proud Mama

It would appear that our boy is finally ‘over the hump’. He has not looked back – he continues to enjoy his work more every day, and trots forward with a greater degree of enthusiasm and confidence, by the minute. While I have been

The Canter

Solo cantered beautifully yesterday and today he is having a well earned day off. It was the first day that Selena and I have both been there together in about four months. We lunged him and then loose schooled him a little in the indoor arena. He is

“Spring”

This time Solo didn’t stagnate while I was away. This time his education continued without interruption. I was away for a full week, my two students stabled at Chesterland and both young riders schooled cross country with Bruce Davidson, then c

The Horse Cottage

Selena left for Quebec on Tuesday with Peanuts but life at Hawkridge Farm is NEVER quiet and this week seems to be particularly hectic – so….I am still not at Bromont, I am hoping to leave later today after our mare Be Bold Juliet is bred

Not 100%

Well I don’t think it’s in the foot. Solo is still not 100% right in his left hind although he is a lot better than he was. I only see it the odd step when I ask him to move over sideways in the stall, or I am turning him around outside.
