Milton, ON – The fourth event in the central region of the 2010 Jump Canada Young Horse Series took place during the Summerfest Show held July 14-18 at Iron Horse Equestrian Complex in Milton, ON. All four age divisions were won by Canadian-bred horses, and Roberto Teran was the winning rider in three of those.

Teran and Grand Finale 3E dominated the Seven and Eight-Year-Old Division. The pair jumped double clear and had the fastest time in the jump-off to secure the win. Bred by KingRidge Stables of King, ON, Grand Finale 3E is an eight-year-old bay Canadian Sport Horse mare by Jamestown out of a Chin Chin mare that Teran has been riding for four years. “She has been so consistent in the Young Horse Series,” said Teran, referring to the pair’s wins at both the Caledon National Horse Show in May and at the CornerStone Horse Show in June, both held at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave, ON. “She is very forward, and so careful and scopey. She is another homebred grand prix prospect from KingRidge Stables!”

Landing in second place was Michelle Vandal and VDL Viper H. Bred in Canada by Hogendoorn Sport Horses of Baden, ON, VDL Viper H is an eight-year-old grey Canadian Warmblood gelding by Corland and out of an Ahorn mare. The pair had four faults in the first round to keep them from advancing to the jump-off. Vandal also placed third with Futi’s Calypso W, owned by Augustin Walch. Futi’s Calypso W is a seven-year-old bay Canadian Warmblood gelding by Futurist and out of a mare by Capitol II.

In the Six-Year-Old Division, Teran found himself in the winner’s circle once again, this time aboard Incognito 3E, bred and owned by KingRidge Stables. Despite only beginning to ride the gelding this season, Teran piloted Incognito 3E to double clear rounds to secure victory. Incognito 3E is a bay Canadian Sport Horse gelding by Double Diamond II and out of an . But he is so smart and simple, and now that we are in the middle of the season I can say that he will be on the top of his game for the end of the year. He will be a top amateur horse because he is so straightforward and uncomplicated.”

Teran also took second place after turning in a double clear performance riding In Your Dreams 3E. Also owned and bred by KingRidge Stables, In Your Dreams 3E is a chestnut Canadian Sport Horse mare by Double Diamond and out of a Junghengst mare.

Michelle Vandal was also clear in the jump-off, but a slower time placed her third riding Futi’s Ray of Hope W. Owned by Augustin Walch and bred at his W. Charlot Farms in Stratford, ON, Futi’s Ray of Hope W is a chestnut Canadian Warmblood mare by Futurist and out of a Ritual mare.

The Five-Year-Old Division once again saw Teran come out on top, this time riding Just for Fun 3E to double clear rounds. Bred and owned by KingRidge Stables of King, ON, Just for Fun 3E is a black Canadian Sport Horse mare featuring grand prix bloodlines – her sire is Double Diamond and she is out of a Money Talks dam. “I am almost certain that she is going to the big ring,” said Teran of the mare. “She has been super consistent this year, super careful, and showing more scope each time. Every time she goes to a new ring that is a little bit spooky or intimidating for the other horses, she just jumps better. “She’s a real winner,” continued Teran. “Sometimes you just have a special connection with a horse and, for me, she is one of them.”

Teran also commented on the program itself. “The Jump Canada Young Horse Series is definitely succeeding,” said Teran. “Canadians have proven that the program is working, just look at the horses now competing in the grand prix ring. And KingRidge Stables has proven that they breed and develop great horses.”

Taking second place was EWSZ’s Jerevel ridden by Miro Frei. Bred and owned by European Warmblood Stallion Zentrum of London, ON, EWSZ’s Jerevel is a Rheinlander mare by Daimler d’Adriers and out of a Rio Grande dam.

Jumping into third place were Hugh Graham and KingRidge Stables’ Jury’s Choice 3E, a dark bay Canadian Sport Horse mare by Polyfax out of a mare by Chin Chin.

The Four-Year-Old Division was won by Natasha Smith-Avery riding Beam P for owner Susan Parker. The pair had one rail down for a performance score of 45 points, and was awarded a style score of 45 out of a possible 50 for a total of 90 points. Bred in Canada by Prima Warmblood of Mount Albert, ON, Beam P is a bay Dutch Warmblood gelding by Indoctro and out of an Emilion mare.

Claiming a close second was Robert Krcmar aboard La Fleur. La Fleur jumped clear for a maximum of 50 performance points and was awarded 39 style points for a total of 89 points. Owned by Jacqueline Wickens, Le Fleur is by Nektor and out of a mare by Loretin I.

Placing third under rider Miro Frei was EWSZ’s Jaspar, owned and bred by European Warmblood Stallion Zentrum. EWSZ’s Jaspar had a clear round for the maximum of 50 performance points, and was awarded 36 points by the style judge for a total of 86 points.
