Ottawa, Ontario — Equine Canada is pleased to announce that Craig Andreas has joined Equine Canada in the new position of Director of Sport.  

As Director of Sport, Andreas is responsible for ensuring the orderly implementation of the aims and objectives of EC, relating to equestrian sport in Canada. Andreas’ specific responsibilities include overseeing human resources management of sport related staff, business process planning and management, and monitoring sport related budgets. In addition, Andreas will support and coordinate sport related programs and activities in order to achieve the long term and annual priorities of EC and all of its disciplines.

“Craig’s extensive education and background in sport administration is a great addition to EC’s management team,” commented EC Chief Executive Officer Debbie Millar. “Combined with his great enthusiasm and communication skills, I’m sure he will succeed in the challenging work ahead of him.”

A native of Windsor, ON, Andreas has over 11 years of experience in sport management. For the past five years, he has been the General Manager of Guelph Soccer, in addition to having held multiple developmental positions relating to recreation operations and fundraising. Andreas holds a Human Kinetics, Sports Administration degree from the University of Windsor.

A Level III carded soccer referee, Level II coach and an Ontario Soccer Association Certified Discipline Chair, Andreas also holds certificates in management from CANFIT PRO and the Ontario Recreational Facilities Association. In 2002 the City of Welland honoured Andreas with the Outstanding Volunteer Award for his work in promoting soccer within the region.
