Ottawa, ON—The 2011 Dressage Canada Board Election gets underway with the call for nominations, which starts on July 2nd and continues until July 23rd, 2010.

 

The Dressage Canada Board (DCB) develops and manages its programs through a number of technical committees. The objectives of Dressage Canada are to foster the growth of dressage and the pursuit of excellence in the sport at the local, national and international levels.

Dressage Canada is managed by a board of eleven (11) members which consists of the following

• two (2) Athlete Representatives elected by DC’s Athletes’ Council for a term of (2) two years. DC’s Athletes’ Council will also identify (1) one alternate Athlete Representative who will be called on to participate in the event the Athlete Representative is not available,

• the chair or designate of the High Performance Committee,

• the chair or designate of the Domestic Development Committee,

• one member from another Dressage Canada sub-committee, and

• the remaining six (6) board members to be elected by the membership of Dressage Canada as Directors-at-Large. 

The 2011 Dressage Canada Board will have two (2) Directors-at-Large positions to fill.

Interested nominees must submit a biography (photo optional) along with the nomination endorsement form, available at www.equinecanada.ca/dressage, to Equine Canada one of three ways. All applications must be received by the deadline of July 23rd, 2010.

The 2011 DCB takes office January 1, 2011. All DCB members must be current affiliates in good standing with both Dressage Canada and Equine Canada.

 

Dressage Canada senior affiliates are encouraged to play an active role in deciding the individuals that will shape the future of Dressage in Canada by voting. Nominee biographies and ballot packages will be mailed by August 20th, 2010 to all current senior Dressage Canada affiliates in good standing as of the Call for Nominations date of July 2nd, 2010. Ballots must be returned and received at the address indicated on the ballot by the deadline of October 22nd, 2010. The results of the election will be announced by Dressage Canada during the 2010 Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
